Abbreviation for Institute Banking Personnel Selection is an autonomous body in India that commenced its operations in the year 1975. At the behest of RBI,it was made an independent body in 1984.It is a self-governed academic and research oriented institute with the objective of elevating Human-resource development through various examinations it conducts in a year. The exams conducted by IPBS are widely known as CWEs Common Written Examinations. It conducts a series of CWEs in a year. It includes examinations for POs (General Banking officer), Clerical officers and specialist officers for the recruitment into the public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks.

IBPS HAS BEEN HIGHLY APPRECIATED for its impeccable record in conducting examinations.
